The Green Line train is one of the fastest trains in Pakistan. Its maximum speed is 106 km/h (65 mph), and its average speed is 72 km/h (45 mph). The Ministry of Railways has designated the Green Line Express with the numbers 5UP and 6DN.

The Green Line Train is one of the trains operating in the luxurious category. It features an AC Parlor Class that resembles the look of a luxury bus. It has 2 parlor cars, 5 Business coaches, and 6 AC Standard coaches. It also has four to five economy-class coaches.
Online Reservations and Discounts
Initially, bookings for the Green Line Express were done through Pakistan’s official website. However, now, it is managed by a private company. To book tickets online, you need to install the Rabta app, create an account, and then proceed to book your ticket online. Additionally, you can also visit the ticket office at your nearby station to book a seat or berth.

ATTENTION: If you book a Green Line ticket 48 hours before departure, you do not have to pay extra charges. But if you book a ticket within 48 hours, you will have to pay an additional 5%.
Children under the age of 10 have been eligible for a half-price ticket on the Green Line Express. In addition, individuals aged 65 or older and disabled persons receive a 25% discount on their tickets if their data is registered with Pakistan Railways.

During train travel, keep something handy for precaution. Depending on the weather, have blankets or large scarves to wrap you. Use the platform to board the train. Buy a train ticket from the station or book a ticket online. Travelling without tickets is a legal offence and you can be fined or jailed.
