Between Attock and Jand railway stations lies a remarkable stretch of the track featuring a series of seven lengthy tunnels nestled within the Kala Chatta mountain range. Spanning approximately 5 kilometers, these tunnels collectively measure around 9046 feet or roughly 3 kilometers in length. This unique geological feature, known as the “Seven Sisters,” is unparalleled globally, as no other location boasts seven consecutive long tunnels over such a short distance. Constructed by the North Western Railway during the British colonial era between 1895 and 1897, these tunnels, also referred to as the Jhalar tunnels, adorn the picturesque hilly passage along the Kotri–Attock Line, showcasing the ingenuity of railway engineering amidst natural splendor.
