Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has started an ambitious electric bus initiative in Punjab, designed to upgrade public transport and encourage eco-friendly travel. This plan shows the provinceโs dedication to green development and better facilities for citizens. The project will be rolled out in phases, ensuring proper infrastructure and smooth services for passengers.
Fleet Size: A total of 1,500 electric buses will operate in major Punjab cities.
Passenger Capacity: Each bus can carry 80 people, including 30 seated passengers.
Modern Facilities: GPS navigation, free Wi-Fi, USB ports, anti-slip flooring, safety cameras, and ramps for disabled passengers.
Bus Stations: Newly built electric bus stops with fans, water dispensers, and mini canteens for passenger ease.
Low-Cost Travel: Flat Rs. 20 ticket price for the public.
Free Service: Senior citizens, differently-abled people, and students can travel without charge.
